Flavia Da Rin is an internationally recognized artist of photography.

Her works can be placed between tradition and transgression: her trademark style is constantly evolving through her edgy self-portraits.

Pioneering Snapchat and the explosion of “The Selfie”, Da Rin’s characters exude charm and emotional fragility, humor and and a dissimulated melancholy, as well as an uncanny feeling, that impels viewers to question what lurks beyond the frame. Da Rin’s artworks are a kind of magical mirror inviting us to look at and identify with her characters that immediately transport us to a parallel universe of fantastic stories. Recognised for her poetic fusion of digital art and storytelling: art history, Japanese anime, paintings by Botticelli, Ingres, Pre-Raphaelites, pop culture and her own biographic events count as her inspirational sources.

Flavia Da Rin (1978) lives and works in Buenos Aires. She studied at the Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte(IUNA), formerly the Prilidiano Pueyrredón, for five years. Starting in 2001, she participated in crits and studio classes with Diana Aisenberg. From 2003 to 2005, she took part in the Programa de Talleres para las Artes Visuales at the Centro CulturalRicardo Rojas (UBA- Kuitca).

The work of Flavia Da Rin has been exhibited in solo and group shows held at museums and galleries in Argentina and abroad, as well as biennials like the Busan Biennale in SouthKorea and the Cuenca Biennial in Ecuador, at which she represented Argentina, and at the Cartier Foundation .
